My name is Ifeoluwa Aribatise, Co-founder and Chief Partnership Officer at Heala.

Heala is a health-tech platform that leverages technology to provide affordable and high-quality healthcare access for as little as 500 naira. Through our platform, healthcare providers—including HMOs, hospitals, and businesses—can better manage the rising costs of healthcare delivery while meeting their clients’ needs without prolonged wait times.

What problems does Heala solve?

• Lack of personalized and preventive care – Many Nigerians seek medical attention only when they are already ill.
• AI-powered chatbots – These provide personalised health recommendations and allow users to consult a doctor for diagnosis confirmation.
• Reduced wait times – By taking primary healthcare virtual, we help decongest hospitals, reduce the use of consumables, and minimize the spread of diseases.
• The “Japa” effect – We enable Nigerian doctors who have relocated abroad to continue practicing and providing care.
• Increased productivity – Patients can avoid long hospital wait times and unnecessary travel, reclaiming hours that would otherwise be lost.

What’s a common misconception about telemedicine that you’d love to debunk?

Many people believe that telemedicine compromises the quality of care or has a limited scope of service. However, with Heala’s end-to-end solutions, which include audio, video, and chat consultations, patients receive comprehensive and reliable care.

Tell us about a user story that touched you.

Every time someone uses Heala to consult a doctor, it not only provides them with the care they need but also helps a doctor earn extra income. Knowing that each consultation makes a real difference in both the patient’s and the doctor’s life is deeply meaningful to me. Every user’s story is a reminder of why we do this.
